This summer I was asked to answer some questions about traveling for a luggage company. A few of my responses were selected for inclusion on their website. One of the responses that wasn’t selected was about my favorite travel memory. I chose to write about Paris. Paris was my first solo trip abroad and the memories I made there inspired me to start this blog. The photo I am using for my profile photo is the one my friend took of me after we walked around the Rodin museum. My goal with this blog has always been to inspire myself and to inspire anyone who reads it.
Here are some photos from Paris and my favorite travel memory.

My favorite travel memory would have to be from Paris. This was a special trip for several reasons. It was my first trip overseas and I also got to spend the week exploring with one of my closest friends. We went to the Orangerie Museum in the Tuileries Gardens and walked through the Luxembourg Gardens and even spent an afternoon walking through the Montparnasse Cemetery. We also celebrated my birthday at a nice restaurant called Ma Bourgogne on the corner of Place des Vosges near the Victor Hugo house. But one of my favorite memories from this trip was a simple breakfast I had with my friend. We went to Mucha Café on Boulevard Saint-Germain and sat at a table outside. It was a quiet morning and I remember looking at the buildings across the street and noticing their symmetrical features and marveling at the trees that line the boulevard. It was perfectly picturesque. I could hear the diners at the table next to us having a conversation in French and this is when reality sunk in that I was really there. We got the usual fare of croissants and rolls and juice and coffee. I also ordered a ham and cheese omelette because I wanted to try an authentic French omelette. I remember joking with my friend and the waitress about it. When the waitress finally brought the omelette out, it was so large that it took up a quarter of the table space. Something we joked about later. But it was the most delicious omelette I’ve ever had. That morning was a perfect moment in a week full of memorable moments and that is why it is my favorite travel memory.

And here is the omelette:
