Points of Interest: London

View of Westminster Abbey. From where I am standing I am looking south towards the river. I am always visiting cities when they are under construction. Or it could be that some cities are always under some sort of construction. There were major renovations underway in this section of London. Note the column in the center of the photograph.

View from St. James Park. To the left off-camera is St. James Palace. Behind me off-camera begins the park and there is a war memorial sculpture. Note there is another column dominating the center of the photograph.

View from the river looking east. Note Tower Bridge left of center. The tall, spire-shaped building to the right of the photograph is The Shard and it was designed by Renzo Piano. It is also interesting that from this vantage point St. Paul’s Cathedral is obscured by the buildings on the left side (north side) of the Thames. This is my favorite waterfront picture from my trip to London because it is the only one in which I managed to hide the boats on the river and the cars on the bridges.
